Walks And Walking – Cornwall Walks Polruan Walking Route South West Coastal Path
Polruan is a short ferry ride away from Fowey and offers fabulous walks, walking passed Lansallos to Polperro along the South West Coastal Path (SWC Path) walking route. If you want a walking route that is extremely simple to navigate and lets you just clear your mind and refresh your senses then this walk is perfect.
Walking shorts back on as I walk another section of the SWC Path with my The North Face windproof walking jacket on and warmer walking layers packed in to my rucksack just in case it got too rainy and cold and safely strapped up in my walking boots.

From leaving the ferry I turned right to climb the steep road up to join the SWC Path passing the school and on to the monument by Washing Rocks to look back at Fowey and St. Catherine’s Castle before turning to see the pathway ahead. My heart full of joy at the stunning coastline I set off in earnest to walk across a common where a large group of ramblers passed me as I then entered the solitude of this walking route.
Now it was just a case of following the natural track of the SWC Path making sure that every step was savoured breathing in the clean crisp air and embracing the gusty sea breeze. So, on I walked until I reached Blackbottle Rock and then in to Lantic Bay passing Great Lantic Beach and Little Lantic beach climbing slightly up to Pencarrow Head where I then had a clear view of the walk ahead and with Polperro just tucked around the corner and out of sight for the time being.
From Watch House Cove and Palace Cove I then passed Sandheap Point to then pass Parson’s Cove and then along Lansallos Cliff to Broad Cove and Shag Rock passing West Penslake Cove and Penslake Cove before being slightly disappointed that there was no East Penslake Cove as I then reached Blackybale Point. I then continued along the SWC Path to reach Colors Cove and then on to Nealand Point passing the Larrick out to sea before a good chunk of the walk then took me to The Bridges and Chapel Cliff along round and down in to Polperro.
Here I entered the village and had a good explore around all of the alleys to then head north and up along the main street to turn left at the main junction before the large car park and find the bus stop to take me through to Looe after a good 8 miles and 3 hours.
