Walks And Walking – National Walking Month May 2013
Walks And Walking – National Walking Month May 2013
I found out about National Walking Month when I was reading the Judith Wills Diet Blog on the Saga website.
Judith writes “So Wednesday was the start of May, which has been deemed National Walking Month. Apart from the fact that the name keeps making me think “Why can’t I walk the rest of the year too?” nothing but good can come of anyone encouraging us to lace up our Brashers or Rohans or sneakers and take to the paths, be they city, town, village, park or across the fields“. One of Janet’s favourite places to go walking is to see the carpets of wild anemones in Hergest Croft woods and one of my favourite places is Epping Forest.

The organisers of the event – Living Streets, the charity who stand up for pedestrians – have designated two weeks during the month as ‘Walk to Work Week’ and ‘Walk to School Week’ and you can find out more about them here and see their flashy infographic here.
Judith will be launching her own invention, ‘Walk Anywhere You Like For No Particular Reason Week’ (May 18 – 24 if you want to join her) and if you want to know where she has been and what adventures she experiences then you can find her blog here.
