I was kindly sent a pair of sports gloves to review by the brand agency for MacWet. The gloves are premium MacWet long cuff climatec sports gloves which are claimed to be suitable for hiking and walking in dry and wet conditions. I decided to test them out on day 2 of our bivouac build with Tedi as yesterday I scratched my hands on the journey to the centre of our Epping Forest hideaway and all the log and branch collecting.

Before I received them I had to measure my hand so they sent me the correct fit. They, literally, fit-like-a-glove and are extremely comfortable. Because it wasn’t raining today I ran them under the tap for a while and then put them on. They definitely wicked away the water and I was also able to use my smartphone with the gloves still on. So far, so good…. using my smartphone with gloves on is always a deal breaker!

So, I packed them in my rucksack and headed out in to Epping Forest for our walk.

For general use of climbing over gates and pushing brambles out of the way in the woodlands they were fine. I was a bit concerned about trashing them on day one but they handled my bivouac building with ease. No tears in the material and after washing they still look like new. Even when wet and sweaty they still kept their shape and grip. What I really like about them the most is that their logo is quite similar to mine!
