Walks And Walking – Dorset Walks Langton Herring Walking Route
This is a super simple Dorset walk starting at Lower Farm Cottages in Langton Herring covering 3 miles and taking just over an hour. This walking route is suitable for everyone and apart from a fairly steep climb up the meadow at the beginning it’s all fairly straight forward to follow and is very clearly signposted.

From our cottage at Lower Farm we walked left to the public footpath signpost crossing over the stil and walking up the meadow to the top right hand corner of the field to the stile and signposts. At the road we followed the signpost to Langton Hive Point joining a the Coastguards Road lane that was full of muddy puddles, which Tedi found an absolute delight!
There were lovely views over the Fleet Lagoon Nature Reserve. At the end of the lane we walked left at the signpost for Moonfleet and Ferry Bridge where we then walked through the gate and around the right hand side of the field with the lagoon on our right hand sides all the way until we crossed over the small bridge.

We then walked left at the next signpost to Langton Herring and the Elm Tree Inn following this track all the way up the lane to a metal gate. Keeping to the right hand fork of paths we then walked right at the road following the sign to the Elm Tree Inn, walking left at the t-junction by the red telephone box downhill all the way to the the turning on the left, marked no access, by the big barn.
This took us back to Lower Farm Cottages and then end of our walk.
