Walks And Walking – The Festival of Winter Walks
I think there is a lot to be thankful to the Ramblers for, and the Festival of Winter Walks is just one of them. The Festival of Winter Walks is between 21 December 2013 to 05 January 2014 and has been running for the last 25 years. There are 954 walking routes available so you’re sure to find a Ramblers walk near you during the festival if you use the Group Walks Finder.

Walks And Walking – The Festival of Winter Walks – Cornwall
The Festival of Winter Walks runs annually over the Christmas and New Year period. It’s a great opportunity to discover the pleasures and benefits of walking and the welcome of a Ramblers group led walk or try a short health walk with a Walking for Health group in England, while making the best of winter days and kick-starting those New Year’s resolutions.
Free, fun and open to everyone walks will take place around the country during the festival. Chosen and led by Ramblers and Walking for Health volunteers, the walks showcase Britain at its wintry best. Many of the walks are short and family-friendly, although there are always plenty of longer walks for the seasoned hiker too.
The festival typically includes walks across England, Scotland and Wales, hundreds of walks under five miles and festive-themed walks. With so many wonderful walks to choose from all around Britain, the Ramblers recommend anyone, whatever their age or walking ability, to join in the Festival of Winter Walks.
