First impressions of these Teva trail walking boots is that they are magical – exceptionally well designed, extremely lightweight and amazingly comfortable. In fact, I liked them so much that I didn’t really want to go for walk in them for fear of getting them dirty!

The Teva Chair 5 winter walking boots come with 250g of 3M Thinsulate insulation removable liners that are also great for indoor use. The waterproof outer shell is made with fully sealed seams and the sole is made from their White Spider Rubber, which has a reassuring ‘stickiness’ to it that gives a really superior grip. The Chair 5 also scrunches down to the size of a normal pair of shoes so fit easily into a rucksack without taking up as much room as a normal pair of walking boots.

I went out for a quick 5 mile walk in Epping Forest and they are just as comfortable as they look. After a while I even forgot I was wearing new walking boots, they were that comfortable. The removable liner slips in really easily and there is Velcro on the heel and as you lace the boots up there are Velcro fastenings at the top. So, whilst my feet had plenty of room inside they had a very snug fit and there wasn’t any part of my foot that rubbed. I also decided to go for a quick walk without the removable liner inside with a really thick pair of socks on. They were fine for the mile or so I walked but I wouldn’t go for a proper walk in them without the liner.
