Walks And Walking – Etchinghill Walk In Kent

This was a great 8 mile circular walk in Etchinghill, a small village just off the A20 on the Canterbury Road, Kent.

Tedi and I parked the car in Teddars Leas Road and walked right up passed The Gatekeeper pub following Canterbury Road all the way up to the footpath where the road went left to continue our walk keeping straight ahead.

This track lead us across the golf course to rejoin Canterbury Road where we then walked right and then left to join the Elham Valley Way to Lyminge.

We then followed the road to the left up Well Road, the High Street and then down Woodland Road eventually walking left down Skeete Road.

We continued our walk turning left at the third footpath just before Skeete walking behind the Garden Centre at Hempton Farm to Farthing Common.

This part of the Kent countryside is absolutely stunning so we took our time following the main track of the North Downs Way as it zig-zagged it’s way across the Downs to the lane at Staple Farm.

We continued our walk straight ahead to rejoin the North Downs Way to the Tolsford Hill Radio Station following the signpost for the Saxon Shore Way and Elham Valley Way.

We then walked left down through the left hand side of The Beaches woodland before ending up back on Beachborough where we walked left back up to the car.
