Walks And Walking – Monks Horton Walk In Kent
Walks And Walking – Monks Horton Walk In Kent
This was another excellent circular walk along the Kent Downs Way. This Monks Horton walk in Kent covered 9 miles from Farthing Common to Brabourne, heading down to Horton Priory and back up to Hempton Farm.

Walks And Walking – Monks Horton Walk In Kent – Farthing Common
Tedi and I parked the car at the Farthing Common car park next to Hempton Farm and walked right up Stone Street where we crossed the road to join the North Downs Way to a wide grassy path than ran parallel to the road.

Walks And Walking – Monks Horton Walk In Kent – North Downs Way
We followed the North Downs Way left down Cobbs Hill crossing over to a lane where we then walked right in to Stowting and passed the very inviting Tiger Inn.
We continued our walk up Scot’s Lane to Highfield Farm where we crossed over to a set of fields that lead all the way to a lane by Brabourne Downs.
We walked left down the lane and then left again to a footpath where the road forked that lead diagonally across fields to Brabourne village.
At the village we walked left and then right around the back of the church to a track that lead us up and around the side of the next set of fields.
We continued our walk down the wide gravel track, with Forty Acre Wood clear on our left hand side, that turned in to a wide grassy path all the way down to a set of metal gates where we then walked left.
We continued in to the next field walking diagonally across before walking right to a gate by a lane.
We then walked left down the lane and right in to the old (and over-grown) Priory Lane where we walked parallel to it in the field on our right hand side.
We continued our walk straight ahead around Horton Priory gates to a track that leads us across a field to a gate and lane.
We then walked right and left down the lanes to Hyham Hill which joined Blindhouse Lane all the way back up to the car park at Farthing Common.
