Walks And Walking – Lyminge Forest Walk In Kent
Walks And Walking – Lyminge Forest Walk In Kent
This was a 9 mile circular walk around Lyminge Forest in Kent which took Tedi and I 4 hours to complete.
We parked the car in the car park at Mockbeggar on Longage Hill between West Wood and Park Wood in Lyminge Forest.

Walks And Walking – Lyminge Forest Walk In Kent – Log Piles
We then walked left along the lane before walking right at the sign for Park Wood where we walked all the way up to the lane passing lots of large log piles.
We then walked right down the lane and then left to walk all the way up to Droveway Farm where the path bent right and eventually turning left to join the lane.

Walks And Walking – Lyminge Forest Walk In Kent – Elhampark Wood
We continued our walk left up the lane to the next footpath on the right hand side where we walked up through Elhampark Wood crossing over one lane before naturally joining the next.
We then walked right and as the lane went left we took the most obvious footpath on the right hand side to walk through the denser part of the forest at Madams Wood.
We continued our walk over the stile to open fields, in the valley of Park Gate Down Nature Reserve, where we followed the wide grassy path across fields and lanes to a very old stile at Clavertye Wood.
We then walked right up the lane and left over two stiles in to Beveridge Bottom Wood where crossed over the field and then walked left to follow the fields edge to the wider track that lead us to the next set of fields and the gate by Longage Hill.
We continued our walk left down to Rhodes Minnis where we then walked right up Green Lane, passed the Cat Sanctuary, walking right at the bridleway sign to a wide grassy path that took us back in to West Wood.
At the second main turning on our right we walked all the way up to the top and back to the car park.
