HF Holidays 4 Mile Family Circular Walk From Holnicote House
This was our first walk during our week at Holnicote House with HF Holidays.
It was a 4 mile family circular walk from Holnicote House to Selworthy Green and through woodlands to Porlock and then back through woodlands to the house.
Our HF Holidays walk leader today was Richard and after a quick outline of our walk we set off from the Boot Room to cross the road and walk up to Selworthy Green, which is a perfectly preserved National Trust set of stunning cottages and tea rooms.

After a brief stop for the children we continued our walk uphill to the white church, with fabulous views out across Exmoor National Park, where Richard ran through some of the history of the area.
We continued our walk following the signposts through the woodlands for Allerford and Bossington with occasional glimpses of Exmoor through the trees.

We then followed the signpost to Bossington where we passed St Agnes Fountain holy well and sacred spring that was built back in 1820.
We then continued our walk following the next signpost to Bossington and the next signpost to Hurlstone Point before heading down to Lynch Bridge and a very impressive church, with Rose thoroughly enjoying the walk.
We stopped for a long lunch at the Owl and Hawk Centre and stayed for a 45 minute display before heading back to Holnicote House following the signpost to Lynch Bridge through the National Trust’s Selworthy Wood Paths.
We then crossed a footbridge in to Allerford Woods where we looked on in awe at a beautiful allotment garden.
We then crossed over a stunning packhorse bridge in Allerford village Porlock and returned to Holnicote House.
