HF Holidays 4 Mile Family Circular Walk In Lynmouth
HF Holidays 4 Mile Family Circular Walk In Lynmouth
This was our second walk during our week at Holnicote House with HF Holidays.
It was a 4 mile family circular walk from Lynmouth to the Valley Of Rocks and then back to Lynton and down to Lynmouth.
Our HF Holidays walk leader today was Mervyn and we set off from the Boot Room to cross the road and get the coach to Lynmouth where after a quick outline of our walk we set off to the Lynmouth Funicular Cliff Railway to Lynton.
When we reached Lynton we walked out of the cliff railway station to find the first signpost to the Valley Of Rocks where we continued our walk following the next signpost to the Valley of Rocks Coast Path.
We continued our walk along the South West Coast Path to Castle Rock where the local goats were scattered across the cliff face and coastline.
When we reached Castle Rock we stopped for a long lunch with plenty of games and stories for the children.
After lunch we walked left down the road to Lynton and then right up in to the hills and in to woodlands following the signpost to Lynton via County Road.
There was the option to return to Lynmouth on the cliff railway or walk down the zig zag path so we opted for the latter. Back at Lynton we were free for an hour or so to have a good look round the park and shops before the coach pick up back to Holnicote House.
