Walks And Walking – Par Sands Walk In Cornwall
Walks And Walking – Par Sands Walk In Cornwall
This was a 10 mile circular walking route in Cornwall from Par Sands to Fowey via the Saints Way and then back again via the South West Coast Path which took Tedi and I just under 5 hours to complete.
From Par Beach and St Andrews Road Nature Reserve car park we walked up to the A3082 with the lake on our left hand sides to the Ship Inn pub where we walked right to follow the waymarker for the Saints Way.
This part of the walk is very clearly signposted all the way to Fowey.
We walked up an enclosed gully with occasional views back down to Par Sands before walking left at the next signpost and onto open fields.

We continued our walk crossing over the large stone stile following the feint path to the road.
At the top of the pathway we reached the A3082 on Polmear Hill where we walked left for a short time before then walking right at the roadsign to Polkerris and Beach.
We continued our walk straight ahead before walking left down the lane by Tregaminion Church to continue to follow all the signs for the Saints Way.
We then walked under the bridge at Lankelly Farm and then walked right down the lane and then left at the next lane.
As we got nearer to Fowey we walked down Love Lane and then steeply down some very damp and slippery rocks to Readymoney where we stopped for lunch overlooking the cove.
We then walked back up the rocks walking left at the path to St Catherine’s Castle.
After a quick explore we then walked left to get onto the South West Coast Path.
We then continued our walk along the South West Coast Path to Southground Cliffs, Lankelly Cliff and around Southground Point where we then walked downhill to Polridmouth and back up again with Gribbin Tower now in clear view.
As we reached Gribbin Head the steep climb up to Gribbin Tower was quite stretching to say the least!
After a short stop to recover we then continued our walk across fields to find a much easier walk along the rest of the South West Coast Path with Par Sands coming back into view as we reached Little Gribbin.
We then walked left down the track to Polkerris Harbour Quay where we walked briefly on the beach before walking right up the lane and then left at the South West Coast Path to Par.
We continued our walk along the South West Coast Path all the way back to the Ship Inn at Polmear and then left down the lane to Par Beach and St Andrews Road Nature Reserve.
