Karcher OC3 Portable Cleaner Review
Karcher OC3 Portable Cleaner Review
The Karcher OC3 Portable Cleaner is a fully mobile, compact and very lightweight system that fits easily in to the boot of your car. It has a long lasting lithium ion battery – about 20 minutes of washing – which takes about 3 hours to fully charge, and a 4 litre water tank.
If, like me, you’re new to Karcher products Halfords have this really cool interactive house – you can launch it here.
Keeping my walking boots well maintained is paramount to me, as it takes me a long time to break them in. I don’t want to over clean them or leave the muck and mud to dry them out but I also want to make them last as long as possible. The Karcher OC3 Portable Cleaner gives me just the right amount of power to do a really decent job while I’m away before my traditional ‘post walking holiday cleaning job’.
Flat jet nozzle doesn’t strip the waterproofing off and doesn’t make the little scuffs any worse. The 2.8 metre spiral hose gives you lots of flexibility so the unit stays stable as you wash. The low 5 bar pressure is good enough to clean a really muddy pair of boots but I did find I needed extra water to refill it.
Detaching the water tank is simple, the handles go up and then around, and quickly releases for access to the hose, or store it away. The only bit you can’t store is the power cable so I have to keep remembering to loosely tie it around the handle when putting it away in the cupboard.
As I was testing it out I also found it really useful to clean my windows, and also the car windscreens and wing mirrors. You couldn’t clean the whole car with it – you’d need a more powerful pressure washer – but it does just enough if you’re out and about and need help cleaning the bugs off and removing dust. It was also very handy for cleaning the muddy wheels of our child’s buggy.
There are quite a few accessories available for bikes and pets etc and it also comes with a handy 2 year guarantee.
As the marketing bumf says, ‘leave the dirt where you found it, with the Karcher OC3.
