LOWA BALDO GTX MENS WALKING BOOTS REVIEW
The Lowa Baldo GTX mens walking boots are deliciously comfortable making them an absolute dream to wear for trekking.

Whenever I get a new pair of walking boots I usually try and map out a short walking route that involves a little bit of climbing, sharp inclines and declines.

This gives me a good sense of fit, comfort and how long it is going to take me to break them in.

After a long spell of miserable weather finally there was a cold bright autumn morning with fabulous clear blue skies to take my new Lowa Baldo GTX mens walking boots out for a test.
We only live a few miles from Dover Castle, one of the best English Heritage sites in Kent, and even though we have been there many times we always find somewhere new to explore.

One of the stand out features for me was the smallest detail in the lacing.

I am no expert when it comes to eyelets but with the Lowa Baldo GTX mens walking boots there are only three rows of fixed eyelets (I think they might be called roller eyelets) and four rows where you wrap your laces around eyelets.

This enables you to have a more open boot when you put your feet in.
So, if it is cold and you have thick warm socks on your feet still go in easily.

If you have hiking socks on, and I am quite the fan of the 1000 mile double layer walking socks, when you put your foot into the Lowa walking boots they do not catch on the heel and ruin the amount of time and effort you just put in to making sure your socks were on perfectly in preparation for your walk.
Not sure if that is a thing for anyone else, but I find nothing worse than having to take my boots off to readjust my socks before putting them back on again multiple times until the ultimate in boot-sock fit perfection is achieved!

In terms of technicals, the sweet spot of the Lowa Baldo GTX mens walking boots is hill walking, hiking and trekking but they look good with jeans so can be worn casually.
I am thinking at freezing cold afternoons at football my feet will be just toasty and fine on the terraces.

Medium width, resolable, 1350g/pair plus the usual Vibram soles (Vibram® Trac® Lite II) and GORE-TEX® lining.

Lovely high backs offering gorgeous levels of ankle support and so beautifully comfortable I nearly kept them on when I went to bed that night!

The Lowa Baldo GTX mens walking boots currently retail from the Lowa shop at around £200 with free standard and collection point delivery on all orders. Plus, if they do not fit you can return your item within thirty days for free.
