Regatta Survivor III 85 litre rucksack review
There is something quite apt about reviewing a ‘survivor’ product during the COVID pandemic!
First impressions of the Regatta Survivor III 85 litre rucksack are that it is incredible well made and feels like it will be a really durable piece of kit
This hardwearing expedition rucksack is ideal for trekking and camping.
The Regatta Survivor III has a tardis like interior – it is huge on the inside, simple and easy to fill.
It is a big rucksack that you can carry lots of stuff in.
On the outside there are loads of secure zip pockets so you do not have to route through the inside to get what you need.
The hardwearing polyester ripstop gives it the look of a rucksack that costs a lot more than it currently retails at, which is £75 less the promotion discount, and if you sign up to Regatta emails you will also get an extra 10% off. There are probably some terms and conditions linked.
If you shop around you can probably pick one up for around the £35 mark – an unbelievable price for what is included.
For that kind of money you would be really hard pushed to find a better value for money rucksack for your travels.

The air mesh back system provides a great deal of comfort and is stabilised with an internal metal frame and adjustable chest and hip belt.
When I tested it with a decent load it did not slip and kept a perfect fit for the duration of my walking route.
The Regatta Survivor III 85 includes everything you get from the majority of other leading brands – mesh back construction with cooling airflow, two zipped pockets, mesh water bottle pockets and bungee walking pole holders with a detachable rain cover to provide even more reliable protection.

Here is the full list of technical specifications:

Where is the detachable rain cover ?
The rain cover is in a velcro compartment at the bottom of the rucksack.
A decent rucksack of this size ought to have an adjustable torso length to ensure that it is a comfortable fit when fully loaded. This rucksack lacks this feature, so when used for multi-day, wild camping and hiking trips it becomes very uncomfortable. It ought to be a mandatory feature of all rucksacks with these large capacities. If I had my time over again, I’d have paid a bit more for a rucksack with this feature.
